Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. Overview
Litegrants is a grant management platform built for grantmaking organizations. Access to the platform carries responsibility — to the applicants whose information you manage, to the other organizations on the platform, and to the integrity of the grantmaking process. This policy defines what you may not do on Litegrants. It is a companion to our Terms of Service and incorporated into those terms by reference.
These rules apply to all users of the platform — account owners, team members, reviewers, and anyone else acting under your organization's account.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use Litegrants to:
Illegal Activity
Violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation. This includes using the platform to process, obscure, or facilitate transactions that are unlawful under the laws governing your organization.
Grant Fraud & Misrepresentation
Submit fraudulent grant applications, misrepresent eligibility criteria or organizational status, fabricate supporting documentation, or use the platform to award funds under false pretenses. The integrity of your grantmaking depends on accurate data — we take misuse of the platform in this area seriously.
Unauthorized Data Access
Attempt to access, read, modify, or exfiltrate data belonging to another organization. Litegrants enforces strict tenant isolation at the data layer — probing, testing, or deliberately attempting to circumvent that isolation is a material breach of these terms and may constitute a violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
Malicious Content
Upload, transmit, or store viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious or harmful code through the platform — including via file attachments, form submissions, or any other upload mechanism.
Automated Scraping & API Abuse
Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated tools to extract data from the platform beyond what is provided through official export features. This includes excessive automated API requests that place unreasonable load on the platform or degrade service for other users.
Impersonation
Impersonate another user, organization, reviewer, or any Litegrants team member. This includes creating accounts under false organizational identities or misrepresenting your affiliation to gain access or influence in the platform.
Harassment & Harm
Use the platform to harass, threaten, stalk, or harm any individual — including applicants, reviewers, grantees, or other platform users. This applies to content entered into any field: application forms, reviewer notes, report feedback, or messages.
Reverse Engineering
Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code, algorithms, or underlying structure of the platform. This includes using the platform's outputs to train competing machine learning models.
3. Enforcement
We monitor for policy violations and respond proportionally. Depending on the severity and nature of a violation, enforcement may include:
- A warning and request to cease the violating activity
- Temporary suspension of the affected account or user
- Permanent termination of the account, without refund
- Referral to law enforcement where the activity is illegal
For most violations, we will contact the account owner before taking action — unless the violation poses an immediate risk to other users, the platform, or the integrity of data. We aim to be fair; we don't suspend accounts over honest mistakes.
4. Reporting Violations
If you believe someone is using Litegrants in violation of this policy — including attempts to access your organization's data — please report it promptly:
Email: [email protected]
Include as much detail as you can: what you observed, when it occurred, and any relevant account or record identifiers. We treat all reports confidentially and aim to respond within one business day.
To report a potential security vulnerability rather than a policy violation, see our Security page for responsible disclosure guidance.
